Saturday 1st of October, 2011 – TACS Annual Antique Tile Fair in Nottingham (Open to non-TACS Members) BRING BUY SELL OR SWAP The fair will be held at St. Jude’s Church Hall, Mapperley, Nottingham NG3 5HE. St Jude’s is one mile north from the city centre on the B684 Woodborough Road off the A60 or from the A60 Sherwood up Mapperly Hall Drive past mini roundabout to T Junction – turn left to St. Jude’s 50 yards on left.

Here’s the final programme details for the TACS conference EXPORTING STOKE AND BEYOND: Tiles and architectural ceramics in a world context, to be held on Saturday 12 November 2011 at the Potteries Museum and Art Gallery, Stoke-on-Trent.

The conference is to be opened by the Deputy Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent and it should be a fantastic day, with ten speakers and an interactive presentation by Danny Callaghan featuring the unique Minton Tile Ceiling at Bethesda Terrace, Central Park, New York. This will include a live weblink and skype connection.

Architectural Terracotta Research Blog

I would like to inform TACS I’ll be travelling to the USA to research architectural terracotta this is summer. I have been lucky enough to be awarded a Winston Churchill Travelling Fellowship and I’ll be studying the differences in UK and USA terracotta application historically and in contemporary context. The initial stops I’ll be making are outlined on a map on my blog here: amyfrankiesmith.wordpress.com I will be posting news and photos throughout my travels which I hope TACS members may be interested in following.
